WOMEN'S EQUALITY DAY FESTIVITIES AT STATEHOUSE
Wednesday, August 26 Event to celebrate women and unveil state of Ohio Women two- year study
On Wednesday, August 26, a full-day of activities at the Ohio Statehouse will celebrate Women's Equality Day. At noon, Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner will address the group followed by a statement from State Auditor Mary Taylor and a program on the passage of the 19th amendment granting women's suffrage.
At 1 p.m. at the Statehouse rotunda, the results of a two-year study on the current state of Ohio's women by The Institute on Women, Gender, and Public Policy at The Ohio State University will be delivered by Julie Graber, its Executive Director.
At 2 p.m. Governor Ted Strickland will induct the 2009 members of the Ohio Women's Hall of Fame. The full schedule of events is below.
