Taylor Balderas appointed to Toledo City Council

Last night Toledo City Council voted to select Taylor Balderas to fill the District 3 seat formerly held by Bob McCloskey.

Councilmen voting for Ms. Balderas were Democrats Wilma Brown, Phil Copeland, Ellen Grachek, Mark Sobczak, and Mr. Szollosi, and Republicans Rob Ludeman, George Sarantou, and Betty Shultz. Michael Ashford was absent for the vote, Mr. McCloskey and Republican Joe Birmingham voted for Joann Vanderpool, who was Bob McCloskey's former campaign treasurer.

I agree with Frank Szollosi that Taylor is qualified for this appointment and I feel she will bring diversity and a unique perspective to Toledo City Council.
