Dave Schulz To Hold Press Conference On Improving Toledo’s Business Climate
Results of business survey will be released
City Council candidate Dave Schulz will hold a press conference in front of Government Center at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday September 28th and discuss the following:
· Results of a business survey the campaign conducted that shows the vast majority of business owners polled view the city government as unfriendly to business
· Concrete plans to improve the business climate in Toledo
· Call for a private – public task force on outsourcing and privatization opportunities
The cornerstone of Schulz’s plan is the reduction of the business income tax rate from 2.25% to 1.75%.
Schulz, when elected to council, will make holding the administration accountable for implementing customer service training for all employees who deal with the public and business owners.
Schulz will also detail plans to pay for the tax cut that includes merging many departments and out sourcing certain functions. Outsourcing certain functions will make government more efficient, provide better services and focus government on its core functions.
Dave Schulz stated, “My plans will make us more competitive in retaining and attracting jobs, while focusing the city’s resources away from administrative functions to the basic city services our citizens and business owners pay taxes for.”
Schulz believes that by improving the business climate it will also provide the needed jobs and tax base to provide hope to the unemployed and help prevent crime by providing jobs to those who need them. Schulz added, “A stable good paying job is the best disincentive to commit crimes”
Results of the survey can be found at:
