Konop Completes First Portion of 30-Mile Walk Throughout Lucas County

UAW-endorsed candidate to meet with employees at Ford Stamping Plant in Maumee on third leg of trek

(Toledo , OH) – Democratic candidate for Lucas County Commissioner Ben Konop has completed the first two days of his 30 mile county-wide "Walk for Change 2006."

On Monday, October 23rd, Konop will walk for jobs, starting at 1 PM at Airport and Reynolds and ending at the Ford Maumee Stamping Plant, where Konop will meet and greet employees between 2:30 and 3:30 PM as their shift changes over, and hear their concerns and ideas.


Tuesday, October 24th, will feature a “Walk for Small Businesses” beginning at 1 PM at Bayview Park in Point Place and concluding on Consaul Street , where Konop will eat dinner at one of Toledo ’s most successful small businesses, Tony Packo's.

The final day of the five-day cross-county trek will be Wednesday, Oct 25th. Starting at the UT law school where he serves on the faculty, and accompanied by one of his former students, Konop will “Walk for the American Dream,” literally retracing his roots from the law school to his grandparents first home in Toledo, located at 3134 Parkwood Avenue . Konop will be met there by his parents, Barbara & Alan Konop.
