Need help finding dog's owner or information - UPDATE! Owner found!

My daughter Megan found this dog shaking under a tree, it is very elderly and appears to have totally lost vision in one eye and has limited vision in the other eye. The dog is also very hard of hearing but was obviously cared for at one point in time because it was groomed. Either some how someone lost this dog or it was dumped, we of course don't know which.

If you know anyone who has lost this dog or if you are a groomer or anyone who might know who this dog belongs to or any further information on him please contact me via email or comment here. I've brought the dog to my house because Megan could not find any of the humane organizations that would help her.

Lisa,

Maybe if you take it to a Vet and have someone "wand" the dog, they might find that the dog has an ID chip.

Just a thought.

Megan did that and while the vet would not examine it for her to give her any information on the health of the dog - there is no chip.

UPDATE: We did find the dogs owner today. He belonged to an elderly woman and her daughter happened to spot the ad in the paper. She had let the dog out front because he had nipped at her the last time she tried to pick him up to go out in the fenced backyard and then she couldn't find him. When they couldn't find him they thought due to his age and other problems that he had gone somewhere to die. Since he had tried to bite me as well, we figured out that it was his hearing/vision issues that made him try to snap at you if he wasn't aware of your presence so, now she will know what to do to take him out back where the yard is fenced.

Well, we're two for two with the luck in finding the owners of lost dogs though the lab that we found we had less than an hour. I was beginning to think we were going to have another addition to our household and the debate over what the name should be was beginning.

Let's hope our pet finding days are now at an end for a while.
